Check out the building plans above!

Whoa! 32,500 SF of retail, 126 parking stalls, five food trucks with extra stalls - and lots more.

This is bigger than Haleʻiwa Store Lots built by Kamehameha Schools.

See "Renderings" below - all designed to attract tourism.

If permits are issued, construction could begin within weeks or months - creating even more congestion at this busy area for our community,

update on City efforts to acquire the site

Mayor Blangiardi met with developer in Dec. 2023

and the Mayor conveyed the awesome news about the thousands of Oʻahu residents who signed the Petition in support of the City acquiring the property for the North Shore First Responder Center.   Mahalo Mayor Blangiardi!

BUT the  developer Hanapohaku LLC told the Mayor "no!" -  "we  are not willing to sell" - "we are committed to building the commercial mall" !!

What does it take to change the mind of a developer about the best interests of our community?

We will pursue what is pono for the North Shore and our first responders - our campaign is ramping up to ensure that the City acquires the parcels for this critical public purpose.

Councilmember Weyer requesting budget of $500k in support of NSFRC!

Councilmember Matt Weyer has requested $500,000 for planning and design for the North Shore Ocean Safety (First Responder) Center.  On April 1, 2024, the Budget Committee passed the proposed "add."  Next hearing is April 17.  We need your testimony!

North Shore Neighborhood Board

In September 2023, the North Shore Neighborhood Board passed a motion in support - asking the Mayor and Council "to immediately initiate the process for planning and appraisal ofpriority locations for North Shore EMS and Ocean Safety."

Sunset Beach Community Association

In March 2023, the SBCA sent a letter of support to the Mayor and City Council!

The Petition: Over 7000 people responded so far, 99% against the Tourist Mall and 91% for the NSFRC

SSCA presented the Petition to the Mayor at meeting in December 2023 - unveiling a scroll 31 feet long with all  individual names of all Petition signers on Oʻahu.

Join SSCA in this effort!

what is the developer proposing for this site? More tourists, More traffic, more congestion - not serving our urgent community needs

conceptual plans for New North Shore First Responder Center

PHASE 1: No Build - Use Existing Buildings + Open Space for Disaster/Resilience Services

PHASE 1: No Build - Use Existing Buildings + Open Space for Disaster/Resilience Services

PHASE 1: No Build - Use Existing Buildings + Open Space for Disaster/Resilience Services

At SaveSharksCoveAlliance, we envision a new North Shore First Responder Center that directly serves urgent community needs.   The first responders could use the existing small buildings on site.

PHASE 2: Minimal Build Footprint + Open Space for Disaster/Resilience Services

PHASE 1: No Build - Use Existing Buildings + Open Space for Disaster/Resilience Services

With support from the City, a small center could be built that would have major positive impact on community!
